Billy - Dry your eyes out son, I doubt she is reading it, and besides I wasn't even referring to the thread subject at all, I was talking about our fans and the cesspit. So go fuck yourself, you big, easily offended queen.

Manuel..

Why do people like you poison tribute posts like this one. Sometimes "son" if you have nothing nice to say just say nothing.

As a tribute to Vera Lynn they should hold a minutes silence followed by a medley of her songs ending with Bubbles. Shame the place wouldn't be full of fans to sing along..

RIP Dame Vera

Not sure bubbles has ever been powerful, as for old school, yea right, what at the cesspit?

Do you have to be limp wristed and all wishy washy about fucking everything, Lily son?

Re: RIP Dame Vera Lynn
Agree Lily,

What a great tribute that would be to a true East End legend, lived in Thackeray E6 just a short distance to the Boleyn and like me would have heard Bubbles being sung to a swaying rhythm by the crowd, but only when West Ham deserved it. Not for just walking out!

Wasn't my favourite growing up. More of my parents' generation, which I rebelled against. Have learned with age to realise just how great a character she was.

May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

RIP Ma’am.

I’d prefer her version of Bubbles to be played at kick off. Singing along slower than normal would be even more powerful, and old school.

Re: RIP Dame Vera Lynn
Like the brave soldiers who went out and fought for this great nation in the second world war, Vera Lynn fought just as willingly to bring a country together with song and hope, in the most difficult of times.
Vera Lynn had the purest voice and I am sure that during even the most difficult of times it would feel to those who heard it, like water from a mountain spring on a very hot day, and I am certain it gave them great hope and even strength, and helped many to simply carry on .
Her rendition of Bubbles is simply the greatest ever, heart breaking and yet full of hope even when none seems to be there.
R.I.P Dame Vera Lynn a beautiful talented and classy woman who most definitely made Britain

Assuming Vera Lynn makes it to Heaven, she's going to get a shock as to who's there - and, more to the point, who isn't.
